A traditional biscuit company, Jiu Zhen Nan had been slowly losing business and was unable to attract more affluent younger purchasers. They were at a crossroads: go high-end or try to compete on price?

We were hired to define a strategy, work on a brand refresh and take their business online with a new e-commerce store.

Strategy

Our initial approach was to work on a new brand image and strategy to enable Jiu Zhen Nan to retain and leverage its unique history while becoming relevant to young, affluent consumers.

High visibility product placements such as at High Speed Rail stations helped Jiu Zhen Nan to connect with a new audience and become a truly desirable and well known brand name.  

Store Placement

The final step to bridging the gap with young consumers was a new e-commerce website. This was produced in line with the new branding. We worked hard to find a solution which would be both simple and inutitive to use, while also conveying Jiu Zhen Nan’s unique history.

After conducting a series of AB tests and optimising the new website over time, it now enjoys an enviable repeat customer rate of 45%.
